Fall 2014 Workshop Keynote Speaker
Dr. Ruth Heifetz
A medical doctor, environmentalist, and humanitarian, Dr. Heifetz works as Senior Lecturer at the UCSD Division of Epidemiology in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine and is a founding member of Environmental Health Coalition. She was inducted into the San Diego County's Hall of Fame of the Women's History Museum in 2005 as a trailblazer for occupational health and environmental justice. In her presentation, Serving the Underserved Student, she will talk about the need to look at the student from many angles, reveal insights from doctors' experience in evaluating patients, and highlight the social, environmental, and health conditions which students in San Diego and some other parts of the world commonly deal with.
